It's been a while. On July was my winter break and I spent 2 weeks at my parents' place where I mostly slept. I have been feeling very sick lately. Lots of headaches and lack of energy and general body pain. I only do a few things each day and sleep the rest of it.
Not many remarkable things have happened lately: appart from a friend who travelled to visit me and ephemeral meetings with college friends, not many interestingness invaded my life.
Here are a few things I've done:

Hello

Hello getting up earlier and studying in bed. Hello cold hands and beds. It's time for finals and piles of homework. Time for taking longer breaks, time to work and rest. Hello July.

Hello series was inspired by Kara Haupt's Hello new month entries.

Hello winter

Hello winter. Hello dark and cold days. Hello hot coffee in bed and homemade food. Hello scarves and caps. Hello long walks through city streets. I say hello to tv series on the coach and hello to spending time with the ones I love. Hello happiness.

My cousin and I took a little neighborhood tour to give winter a warm welcome :)

Confessions

Life's a gambleI do not enjoy board games and, honestly, I don't know why. I just have an awful time every time I have to play one. I don't care whether I win or lose, I just want the game to be over.

*I want to try to use 'familiar' photos in my blog and since I didn't have a game-like one I picked my friend Enrico's picture.

This too shall pass

My family and I are dealing with a difficult situation. There are days when we shout at each other and days when we get together to cry. Other days we just laugh and hope everything will be okay soon.
I do not talk much with my dad. It is not like I do not talk to him at all;  we have normal father-to-daughter conversations like most people do, we make jokes and laugh together, we cook together and do a lot of things we are supposed to do together. But when it comes to deep, heart-to-heart conversations I choose my mom. That is probably because we are both females or probably because I share more common things with mom than with dad, I do not know... The thing is that lately I have been feeling so blessed to have a so-open-minded mom. There are days when I wish I was far away from her, yes, but most of the time I need her in my life. She's such a great adviser! Whenever I feel miserable she makes me feel incredibly fine and when I don't feel like doing something but feel guilty about don't doing it, she finds the way to make me be happy with my choice and decision. It has always been this way and I love it!
I'm not living with my parents anymore but I travel to see them quite frequently, and this year more than ever. Last week when I left home, my mom drove me to the bus stop and said: You're going back to your world, enjoy it. Enjoy yourself and the good things you can do. Forget about everything that makes you sad and do not worry about the things that you can not do. Do not feel lonely for God is always with you and He gave you beautiful people to be by your side. Do not listen to the negative things me and dad tell you, we are both old and tired and sometimes we do not realize that you are young and do not need to listen everything we have to say. Remember: enjoy everything more!
Her speech made a positive change in me. I am suddenly not worrying so much about the bad things in my life. I have been rather paying attention to the good things that happen to me; they are the ones that count! I have enjoyed a lot being alone and having things to do. I have made myself delicious meals and gave myself sweet treats. I drunk lots of tea and spent most of the time in silence. I have been reading lots of cute blog posts and saved a lot of inspirational stories in my heart. I did not do anything that I did not want to do. This is the life I want! I want to be able to choose what I like and avoid what makes me sad. I want to worry about being a happy person rather than worrying because I'm not making enough effort. I want to leave problems aside, I want to just learn from my mistakes but do not live blaming myself for making them.

Saturday style

Today I was supposed to go to work. And today I was supposed to go to church. And today, also, I was supposed to study for a test. I was supposed to do a lot of things but I wasn't feeling well (I think I got the flu) and I endend up drinking lots of tea with lemon and honey for my throat and curled up in bed to read 'To kill a mockingbird'.

A little break

What I've been doing lately...

You guessed! I've been studying hard. University pretty much consumed my last months. I've felt very stressed and tired so I slept a lot, too.
